Folic acid taken in supplement form is twice as effective as from food. Therefore women of child bearing age will need 200 mcg/d.

Pregnant women should not take vitamin A supplements, eat liver, or liver products. It is too hard for the body to dispose of the excess vitamin A.

Vegetarians and women on diets may need a Calcium supplement. Women with kidney disease should not take Calcium supplements.
