Your first exercise is the most important, and probably the most time consuming due to the fact that you have to judge your current body level and strength. Your body can be very confusing sometimes. Judging your body can often be a tedious task. However, you should always be aware of what your body can and cannot do physically.
To start, if you are going to lift weights, do not try to test your limits by picking up the one hundred pound dumbbells to see if you can quickly complete forty reps. You most likely can’t, and you will also wear yourself out before you can even move onto the next station.
Start out with lower weights. If it’s your first time exercising, grab the twenty pound barbells. From there, do ten reps. If it is too light for you, or on the contrary feel too much burn, then go up, or down: depending on what you feel.
When you find a suitable weight, do forty reps within four sets. A set is ten reps or repetitions. When you are first starting out, your goal is to complete each exercise in four set intervals. The first three sets should basically be a warm up, and by the end of the third set your muscles should feel the burn, while the fourth set should be the most challenging.
You also need to ensure that you are not over-exerting yourself, and that you have chosen the correct amount of weight to start. In order to determine if you are having a successful workout, all you have to do is simply put your hands to your muscle group you are exercising to feel if they are warm. If the muscles are indeed warm, a reaction is occurring, and you’re building muscle.
Make sure you do not overdo it at the beginning, take everything in stride, and if you cannot do forty reps, build yourself up from one set at a time. Every exercise will be more beneficial if you do multiple muscle groups every workout, instead of forty reps in one muscle group and then leaving for the night.
Build up your body together, not in chunks. You wouldn’t put a pie together by making each slice first. It’s better to do it all at once- start with the crust, and then work your way to the oven. You’ll begin to see and feel for yourself the proper way of building muscle extremely fast, just make sure to give it time and work at it.
