Avoid Over Eating – A Weight Loss Tip

Tricks to avoid over eating, which will also help with portion control and weight loss include leaving serving dishes in the kitchen or on the sideboard rather than on the table in front of you. That way you have to get up if you want another helping and you may decide not to bother.

Don’t feel obliged to wipe your plate clean once you’re full, even though this probably goes against those lectures about leaving food on your plate whilst the starving millions starved!

When you’ve finished eating, put food away out of sight so you have to make an effort to get it if you want to eat it. Leaving a candy or cookie jar sitting on the counter is an invitation for an easy snack. A possible exception is fruit – snacking on these throughout the day is a healthy alternative to chips, cookies, candy and cake.

Don’t eat things like ice-cream, cookies and snack foods from their original packaging. Portion them out onto a plate to reduce the temptation to continue eating until you’ve finished the entire packet.
