The fact that you are pregnant begins to show around the eleventh week, which is the end of the first trimester. The baby is rapidly growing at this stage. The head of the baby is very large, about half of its body size. There is also slight hardening of bones, separation of fingers and toes and stretching and kicking acts which become more prominent.

Your baby will be 1-2 inches in length and weighs approximately 8 grams. The most vital internal organs are fully formed at this stage and start functioning. Ossification centers in the skull will develop and will get more solid. The intestines begin to move into the abdominal cavity at this stage.

Weight gain during this stage is necessary and a healthy symptom of pregnancy. Some of you may experience an improved complexion due to improved blood flow and changes in the hormone levels. However some of you may experience leg cramps during the eleventh week of pregnancy. Pregnancy treatment to relieve leg cramps is to include more calcium and potassium in your diet.

You might experience more vaginal discharge called leukorrhea. You can eat a lot of bananas which is potassium rich. Back pain can also result due to the increased size of the abdomen. You should use proper posture and wear supportive shoes and can try bending the knees while lifting heavy objects.

Your early pregnancy symptoms will disappear around this stage and your energy level will be higher. Some doctors may impose travel limitations especially if you have diabetes, BP or placental abnormalities which may bring about a premature labor. A diet rich in dairy products, folic acid and green leafy vegetables and legumes should be continued and you must consult your health care professional before stopping the vitamins or for any other questions.
