The Spicy Lemonade Diet – The Beyonce Diet

The Spicy Lemonade Diet has become very popular in the last few years as many celebrities have promoted the program. It also attracts people who are normally not interested in fasting with vegetable juices or herbal teas, because the lemonade mix you drink during the diet is much tastier than most fasting juices.

You will need to prepare a home made lemonade mixture with cayenne pepper, fresh lemon or lime juice, purified water and maple syrup, and drink a minimum of 4 to 6 glasses of the mixture for 4 to 14 days. Some participants in the program recommend a minimum of ten days, but some have experimented with fewer days and some with longer fasts.

For each portion of the drink, you need ten fluid ounces of purified, distilled or spring water, 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice, 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne powder, and 2 tablespoons of organic grade B maple syrup. Make the drink fresh every time if you can, or at least daily, as it can lose some of its enzymes when left to stand for long periods of time.

No solid foods should be eaten while on the lemon detox, but you should drink a lot of water. There are also laxative herbal teas that are recommended for the diet. Some side effects you might experience for the first few days include headaches, feeling tired and lethargic, and feeling down or irritated. If your normal diet includes a lot of caffeine or lots of unhealthy foods, the side effects can be worse but will usually pass after a couple of days.

Participants generally report quick weight loss and increase in energy and vitality after the program. The lemon detox diet, also called Master Cleanse, became known as the Beyonce Diet when the singer told the media she had lost a lot of weight by following this cleansing diet.
